User Reviews about SCM SCR3310 USB Smart Card Reader Common Access CAC ID DOD
When I upgraded my home PC from Windows XP to Windows 7, I discovered much to my dismay, that my SCM SCR331 USB card reader that I used in the office no longer worked, primarily due to a lack of a Windows 7 compatible driver. When I connected to Amazon.com to research what was now being offered in card readers, I came across the SCM SCR3310 USB card reader. I liked that it was an SCM unit as I had had excellent results with that brand at work. I read through the posted reviews and noted that a lot of DoD workers, like myself, had had great success in using the SCM SCR3310 in conjunction with Windows 7 to connect to their office systems remotely. Even though the SCR3310 is a different, rounded shape in comparison with the older SCR331, I took a leap of faith and ordered one. It turns out that the SCM SCR3310 connected easily to Windows 7, just plug it in, and its new rounder shape did not create any problems whatsoever for using my smart card. In summary, the SCM SCR3310 was a great purchase for me and allows me to easily do everything I was doing with the older SCR331 using Windows XP. -- Works great with Windows 7
