This device appears to be compatible with any standard SD or microSD card. (note that you'll need an adapter, which is usually included with any microSD card you purchase) I have not tested it with any SDHC cards. (those that have very large capacities)

The only problem I've had is that it doesn't like to transfer large files. As another review mentioned, you probably won't be able to copy files larger than 20 MB without breaking them down into smaller chunks. (such as with HJSplit, or as a split archive) If you think you'll need to transfer large files, then you may want to consider another device. This one only tends to be useful for transferring photos, MP3s or anything that wouldn't be too substantial.

Like any other Flash-based hardware, you shouldn't need any drivers for the unit. It will automatically install when plugged into your computer. I've used mine on Windows XP and Vista.

Other thoughts: It's more convenient than some of the other USB-readers out there. Some require cable connectivity, which is a lot slower to hook-up every time you want to use the device.

On another note, the device can actually be used to boot an operating system from your memory card; but only if your computer BIOS supports booting from USB devices. I've tested it with a few Linux distributions. -- Budget SD / microSD reader

Can't really beat this for a buck and twenty nine cents! Get a couple of them.
I stuck in my SD card, plugged it into my MacBook and it mounted on the desktop immediately.
Simple and cheap solution.
Would like it to be a bit more sturdy since I tend to be rough on things like this,
but for the price I could easily get 2 or 3 and have spares in different places.
I'm not sure what folks expect for the price, but I think you get pretty good function.
It's not the smallest or the best looking, but it works fine for me and for SD cards which
are really the most common at this point in time for many cameras.
